Have with you a good English-English dictionary handy.
- Read a sentence in any English book.
- Pick out a word which you do not understand.
- Write down that word.
- Preferably in a hand size card, so you can carry in your shirt pocket.
- Now take the dictionary.
- Find out how to look for that word in the dictionary.
- Dictionary is arranged alphabetically.A<B>C<D etc.
- Know its spelling.
- Know the syllables.
- Know the phonetic spelling.
- Know its pronunciation.
- Know the meanings . A word may mean one or more meanings.
- Know how the word is used as a noun, verb, adjective and adverb or also as a preposition, conjunction and interjection.
- Now Write down the sentence underlining the word which you want to master.
- Here you write a sentence of your own with the word you just understood.
- Then use that word in your daily writing or conversation when the right opportunity you get.
- Prepare at least 10 words in this pattern and in 30 days you will have 300 words in a month and 3600 words in a year. 10800 words in 3 years.
- Carry these cards in your pocket.
- Refer to them often. Don't mug it up.

- Follow these steps.
- A. Read or Listen. with your eyes and with your ears.
- B. Understand what you read or listen.
- Read 7 times until you understand(with the help of your friend the dictionary)
- C. Analyze. Know the different meanings and how to use them in practice.
- D Revise. read, use the word as many times as you can.
- E. Most important.
- When you go to bed, Review what words you have learnt and be content that you have done your best in learning a new word.

- REVISE.
- REVIEW.
